Keith Cormican: Keith grew up moving around the world as his dad was completing an active career in the U.S. Air force. The Cormicans came to settle in the Midwest in Merrillan Wisconsin in 1973. Keith grew up spending his summers working on cars and helping out on his grandparents farm.. Keith graduated from Lincoln High School in Alma Center. He started Cormican Milk Hauling and ran this business for 12 years. During this time he also started Cormican Tree and Landscape with a very successful career for 13 years. Keith was certified in Scuba in 1990. At this time he would go out to Wazee Lake diving and could see the need for a full time Dive Center. He started Wazee Sports Center in 1996. Upon opening the store he started assisting an instructor as a Dive Master until he was able to complete his education to become an instructor. Keith has worked his way to Master Scuba Diver Trainer for PADI and Instructor Trainer for SDI, TDI and ERDI.
Keith has also been the Unit Director for the Jackson County Dive Unit for the past 14 years. He was a very active member getting the Unit started in 1996. Keith has been a Jackson County Deputy Sheriff – Dive Team member since 1996. He has trained dive teams all around Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Minnesota.

Ed Davis:  Ed Is one of our instructors, and is an avid Diver. When you find him out at the lake without a class he’s probably trying his luck with some underwater fishing. Ed is the Inventor of the Scuba Stick. The Underwater fish pole. He has even wrote a PADI course for underwater fishing which he now instructs at Lake Wazee. John Janzen: John originally from Lake Mills, Wisconsin began diving in 1988. He is an accomplished Great Lakes and cold-water diver, a closed circuit rebreather diving instructor and an author who wrote The Diver’s Guide to Lake Wazee as well as articles for Advanced Diver and Wreck Diving magazines. John has been diving with rebreathers since 1999 and he developed and wrote the factory service manual for the Inspiration/Evolution rebreather. John received his CCR Instructor training directly from Mike Fowler, president of Silent Diving Systems and a top-level expert on the Inspiration and Evolution rebreathers

s John’s diving accomplishments include more than 20 dives on the Carl D. Bradley (370 feet deep), the Bradley bell exchange project (2007), the first penetration into the Bradley’s engine room (2009), completion of both IANTD and NSS-CDS full CCR cave diver certifications, the first dives and/or videography on several deep Great Lakes wrecks as well as deep water recovery work for the Michigan State Police and U.S. Coast Guard. The Bradley bell exchange project, the deepest artifact recovery mission ever conducted in the great lakes by autonomous divers, was featured in the 2008 PBS documentary film November Requiem.

John has a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin and is also a certified machinist. He works as an Engineer in the semiconductor industry and has contributed to the development of Cray supercomputers, the mars rover and other NASA programs, the Trident missile program and various other defense and aerospace projects.

 

Shawn Simonson: Shawn has been diving since 2002. He lives in Lake Crystal, Mn. which is about 10 miles west of Mankato in south central Mn. He is the owner and operator of an electrical contracting company "Blue Heron Electric, LLC". He enjoys camping, the great outdoors, spending time with his family and friends, and of course DIVING.  PADI certifications: open water diver, advanced open water diver, ice diver, rescue diver and dive master. TDI/SDI/ERDI certifications: computer nitrox diver, advanced nitrox diver, decompression procedures diver, entry level trimix diver, advanced trimix diver,  SDI open water scuba diver instructor, CPROX1st AED administrator, CPROX1st AED instructor. He enjoys diving from 30 feet to 330 feet. His favorite dive destination so far is Cozumel Mexico. His favorite dive so far is the Gunilda wreck near Rossport Ontario in Canada.

 

 

Robert Gregor grew up in Hamel, MN. After High School graduation Robert joined the United States Marine Corps and worked as an aviation ordinance technician  in Miramar, CA.  After a deployment to Iraq Robert left his active duty status to come back to MN where he married his wife Jenny.  Robert and Jenny were scuba certified in May of 2009 in Honolulu, HI.  Since open water certification Robert has received many specialties including deep, ice, navigation, and rescue diver.  He has dove in Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Lake Michigan, and Lake Wazee. 

Jenny Gregor grew up in Litchfield, MN with her younger brother Jeff and her mother Karen. Jenny is a 2006 graduate of Mayo Clinic's School of Health Sciences and received certification as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist. Jenny's most recent accomplishment was earning her Master of Business Administration (MBA) in May of this year. Jenny is employed by Franciscan Skemp Healthcare in the Cardiac Cath Lab.   She also coaches figure skating. Jenny resides in La Crescent, Minnesota with her husband Robert. In 2008 Robert and Jenny were married and celebrated with a trip to Hawaii. At this time Jenny and Robert decided to receive scuba certification after their incredible trip to Hawaii . Jenny received her Open Water Scuba Certification in Hawaii in May 2009.
